We celebrate our teachers on the 2024 World Teachers’ Day, prioritising this event out of the deep respect we have for educators, inspired by my father, “Baba Teacher.” Teachers are instrumental in shaping the future of our society, and their unwavering dedication is invaluable.


We congratulate all teachers in Ogun State, represented by NUT and ASUSS, and commend their resilience in adapting to new policies and challenges. Under the theme “Valuing Teacher Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education,” we recognise the global and local difficulties teachers face, yet they continue to serve with dedication.

 

Our administration remains committed to supporting education through our “Building Our Future Together” agenda, improving teacher welfare, training, and infrastructure. We are also addressing outstanding promotions and investing in digital learning and financial relief programs for students. Additionally, 1,000 OgunTEACH interns will be made permanent, totalling 5,000 teachers recruited under this administration.

 

On behalf of the government and the people of Ogun State, we express our deepest gratitude to all teachers for shaping the future of our state and country.
